Here are 3 simple yet effective ways to revive your old laptop and bring them to life

These days with the rapid advancement of technology there are new laptops with new hardware and features launching every few months and the old ones are becoming slow and outdated. And since laptops have very little scope for a hardware upgrade, we are compelled to buy new laptops but can there be ways to use our old laptops without buying a new one?
Here are 3 simple ways to do so.

1) Ram upgrade:

Old laptops came with 1,2 or 4 Gbs of ram and since the software nowadays requires more ram these old laptops have become slow so there is a need for upgrading the ram of the laptop. But how much ram is required?  Ram requirement depends on the use, for example, if the laptop is used for normal day-to-day work, media consumption then 8 Gbs of ram is sufficient but for gaming 16 Gbs is at least required. What to be looked at before buying Ram? First of all how many slots are there in laptops if there is a single slot just upgrading will do but for two slots, the ram should be of the same size and frequency for excellent performance. Then the laptop is checked whether it supports DDR3, DDR4, or DDR5.

2) SSD upgrade:

The second most important factor in deciding the speed of the laptop is storage speed. Nowadays SSD comes with comparatively more speed than traditional HDD which decreases the loading time of the software and increases the performance of the laptop. These days laptops come with inbuild slots for NVMe SSDs but for old laptops switching the old HDD with a new SSD will do the work.

3) Operating system upgrade:

Windows operation systems such as Windows 10 or Windows 11 require a lot of resources for themselves so the laptops become slow. Switching the operating system with some light operating system such as Chrome OS Flex or Linux operating system such as Linux mint will make the experience much better and day to day work much easy.

This gives the old laptops a chance for use and prevents E-waste.
