The first and major reason for this ban was recently due to the rising tension between India and China on the western Himalayan border and the Indian people have started boycotting Chinese goods and products.

Among them, Chinese apps were also been boycotted. But the Indian government recently banned 59 Chinese apps in India but some apps were very popular in India like TikTok. It has over 100 million users in India which were active. TikTok is a Chinese origin Chinese app that allows users to make lip-sync videos. 

Secondly, the app was found spying data from the clipboard as reported by Apple tech company. The clipboard is the tool in both phones and computers where users data or text is placed temporarily when he copy something and it remains there until we paste it somewhere. So the TikTok app was spying these data. Although the company fixed the same after the news became viral.

What is the Reaction of Indian people?

There are both types of people who are happy about this news and also sad about this news. But yes the majority of people are happy because the TikTok ban in this situation is for showing love for our country India and supporting our country in this tension time.

TikTok India legally challenged the ban and also tweeted that they are complying with every privacy and security law under the Indian government. And they don’t share user’s data with any foreign governments not even the Chinese government and also they will never do so if they are asked to do.

TikTok provided a platform for its creator to show their skills. And even many people were depended on it for their livelihood and earnings. There was also good and entertaining content on the app.

What were the bad things about TikTok?

Some people used the platform to spread cringe content. In some videos, animals were hurt. Recently there was content that seemed to be promoting an acid attack on women.
